You may remember that last year, in 2017, the South African Mint added the release of a Premium Uncirculated Silver Krugerrand coin to their 50th-anniversary celebrations. Fast forward a year and they are now releasing another very special silver coin – the very first Silver Krugerrand Bullion Coin.
The 1oz Silver Bullion Krugerrand is a legal tender coin – with a value of R1. Beautifully crafted, it features an intricate representation of a Springbok on one side and a portrait of Paul Kruger on the other.
Investors can purchase single coins, sealed mint tubes containing 25 coins per tube or a “monster box” containing 500 1 ounce silver Krugerrands. The Silver Bullion Krugerrand is certainly worthy of a place alongside other popular silver bullion coins like the Austrian Philharmonic, US American silver Eagle and the silver Canadian Maple Leaf.
Each of the coins is struck in a single continuous press to help ensure a lustrous finish and shipped in bullion uncirculated condition. We have waited 51 years for the South African Mint to release a silver coin of this kind and is sure to be a popular with both coin collectors and investors.
The new 2018 Silver Krugerrand is BU – which means a bullion uncirculated coin and as such will not be shipped with a certificate or in a coin capsule.
